Which cut suits me?

Let us guide you through the different glove cuts with the help of KEEPERsport top models
Are you familiar with all the goalkeeper glove cut variants? Let us help you explore the cuts beyond the regular, negative and rollfinger cut. Hybrid cuts are becoming more and more popular.

The popular negative cut is still the first choice of most professional keepers in Central Europe. This cut grants very close contact with the ball and prevents annoying slips of the fingertips at the same time. This effect is achieved with the help of soft gussets made of either textile or latex. All these features combined result in a great grip feeling and excellent comfort.

Fun fact: negative cut gloves are turned inside out during production. Visible seams are often considered disturbing. This is the reason why these gloves have hidden seams on the end product.

The regular cut is the classic cut. Mesh or latex sleeves sewed on the outside of the glove grant you a comfortable and loose fit. Some of the advantages are the larger catching area and better ventilation. The main disadvantage is the untight fit that reduced grip feeling.

Gunn cut or rollfinger cut is a special cut especially popular in the UK. The adhesive foam rolls around the fingers, resulting in an all-around grip and great damping against powerful shots.

  • #4 Hybrid Cut

KEEPERsport's hybrid cut is called the Power cut. This cut is a mix of negative cut and gunn cut. Textile or latex soft gussets on the index and middle finger grant optimal fit and no annoying seams. To further increase the grip in every situation, latex wraps are integrated inside the index finger and outside the little finger.

What about other brands?

Other brands such as adidas, NIKE or PUMA, have different cut variations. They are very similar in structure to the Varan cuts. You can filter gloves by cuts in our webshop.
